Something new every month
Each monthly Guild meeting includes an educational program featuring artists, makers, teachers, fiber experts, and Guild members sharing something they know and love. Programs generally begin around 11:00 AM, after the business meeting and Show & Share, and visitors are welcome.
Programs might be a talk, demonstration, slide presentation, collection of fascinating things passed around the room, or a chance to see an unfamiliar technique up close. Topics range widely across weaving, spinning, dyeing, fiber preparation and textile history—and sometimes wander happily into related subjects such as art, science, mathematics, culture, sustainability, and design.
Past programs have explored subjects including spinning for weaving, paper as fiber art, cochineal dye, alpaca fiber production, weaving as meditation, mathematical ideas in knitting and pattern design, and miniature knitting and needlework.
