We weave. We spin. We explore fiber arts—and we love sharing what we know.
The Handweavers Guild of Pueblo is dedicated to promoting and encouraging weaving, spinning, and related fiber arts throughout the community.
Visitors are always welcome at our monthly meetings. You don’t need to be a member—or an experienced fiber artist—to come see what we’re doing.
Curious about weaving, spinning, or other fiber arts? You don’t need experience—or a roomful of equipment—to get started. Guild members can help you learn the basics, explore different tools and techniques, and connect with people who share your interests. Whether you’re completely new to fiber arts or ready to explore something new, there’s a place to begin.
Make things. Learn things. Meet people.
A guild is more than a monthly meeting. Classes, specialty groups, workshops, demonstrations, outings, and shared projects give members opportunities to spend time with people who are interested in the same wonderfully obscure things they are.

Monthly meetings include programs, demonstrations, Show & Share, and opportunities to learn something new.
A Pueblo tradition for handmade fiber art…
Once a year, our members fill the room with handwoven clothing, scarves, shawls, kitchen towels, table linens, home décor, wall art, ornaments, and more. Everything is handmade, carefully selected, and created by Guild members and a small number of invited guest artists.
Come shop for one-of-a-kind gifts—or something beautiful to keep for yourself.
There’s always something new to learn. Classes and workshops range from fun, inexpensive sessions taught by Guild members to intensive workshops with visiting fiber artists and instructors. Explore new techniques, build your skills, or try something completely different.
There’s something new to discover every month. Our meeting programs bring in artists, makers, teachers, and fiber experts to share their work, skills, and stories. Visitors are welcome.
Find your fiber people. Our Specialty Groups bring together people who share an interest in spinning, tapestry, rigid heddle weaving, and other weaving techniques.
Schools, museums, and libraries– you just have to ask! Our amazing outreach volunteers can probably put together a fiber arts demonstration or workshop to fit your needs.

Meet the makers.
Our members work in weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing, tapestry, wearable art, and other fiber traditions—each bringing their own skills, ideas, and creative voice.
Come Visit Us
Visitors are always welcome. You don’t need an invitation, and you don’t need to be a member to come see what we’re about.
Our regular Guild meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Wesley United Methodist Church, 85 Stanford Avenue in Pueblo. People begin arriving around 9:00 AM, and the business meeting starts at 9:30.
A typical meeting includes Guild business and announcements, time to visit with other members, and plenty of opportunities to see what people have been making. Members share current and finished projects, ask questions, exchange ideas, and help one another solve problems. At 11:00 AM, we usually have a program or presentation on a fiber-art topic. Meetings end around noon.
You don’t need to bring anything. Come in, find a seat, and get acquainted. If you have a project or something fiber-related you’d like to ask about, though, you’re certainly welcome to bring it.
Prefer Something More Casual?
WIP Wednesday is our informal afternoon gathering, held on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00–4:00 PM, in the same room at Wesley United Methodist Church.
Everyone is welcome. Bring a work in progress—or just bring yourself. It’s a chance to visit, work on projects, get advice, try something new, and meet Guild members without the structure of a regular business meeting. Some of the people involved also take beginner-friendly weaving and spinning activities out into the community.
